- Restorative Dentist for Fee-for-Service Biological Dental Practice, Richmond, VA
Description
Looking for Experienced Associate Restorative Dentist — Concierge, Fee-for-Service Biological Dental Practice | Richmond, VA
$300,000–$350,000 First-Year Earning Potential | Significant Opportunity for Income Growth Beyond Year One | 3–4 Days/Week | Established Patient Base
If you are an experienced dentist who enjoys doing excellent dentistry, takes pride in your work, and values building meaningful relationships with patients, I would love to hear from you.
I am Dr. Olivia Hart, founder and owner of Virginia Biological Dentistry, a well-established, concierge-style, fee-for-service dental practice in Glen Allen, just outside Richmond, Virginia.
Over the years, I have worked hard to build a practice that reflects what I believe dentistry should be: minimally invasive, biologically focused, and attentive to the connection between oral health and overall health. We use advanced technology, invest in continuing education, and take the time needed to provide individualized care.
Our patients often travel considerable distances to see us because they are specifically looking for this approach to dentistry. They tend to be well-informed, engaged in their health, and appreciative of the care we provide.
Why Am I Looking for an Associate Dentist, and What Makes This Opportunity Attractive?
I am looking for an experienced associate dentist to join our team because our current associate is relocating.
One of the biggest advantages of this opportunity is that you will not be starting from scratch. You will be stepping into an established patient base and a highly productive restorative schedule, with strong existing collections and significant potential for further growth.
To give you a better sense of the opportunity, our current associate works just three clinical days per week, seeing patients in a single treatment column, and generates approximately $1.05 million in annual collections.
The foundation is already in place, with considerable potential to grow production and collections further, particularly for a dentist with strong treatment planning and patient communication skills. I am open to either a three- or four-day workweek, depending on the right candidate's preferences and availability.
What You Can Expect
- Strong earning potential from the start. I offer a $1,000 daily guarantee, with anticipated first-year compensation of $300,000–$350,000. There is significant potential to earn more in the years that follow, particularly for a doctor who is skilled in treatment planning, communicates well with patients, and can effectively present recommended treatment. We already have a great patient base, including many patients who specifically seek us out for the type of dentistry we provide.
- A true fee-for-service practice. We are not driven by insurance reimbursement or the pressure to see as many patients as possible. Our focus is on providing quality care, taking the time to do things properly, and building long-term relationships with patients.
A strong focus on restorative dentistry. You will be providing comprehensive restorative care. If you already have the skills, or are interested in developing them, your work will also include same-day ceramic restorations using Primescan/CEREC technology. We follow biomimetic principles and place a strong emphasis on preserving natural tooth structure rather than unnecessarily removing it. - Opportunities to expand your clinical skills. I am particularly interested in someone who is already highly skilled in restorative dentistry and genuinely enjoys it. An interest in learning more about sleep and airway-focused dentistry, as well as treating pediatric patients, would be a definite plus.
Modern technology and clinical support. Our practice is equipped with Primescan/CEREC, CBCT imaging, dental lasers, and other technologies that support our approach to biological dentistry. We also provide minimal sedation and nitrous oxide for patients who need additional support during treatment. - A great team to work with. This is something I particularly value about our practice. We have experienced dental assistants and a dedicated front-office team who work closely together to support our doctors and patients. You will not be expected to manage everything on your own.
- A 3–4 day workweek. I believe it is possible to have a financially rewarding career in dentistry while still having time for family, personal interests, and life outside the office.
- Excellent benefits for a four-day work schedule. For an associate working four days per week, we offer a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance, an annual continuing education allowance to support your professional development and expand your knowledge and clinical skills in biological dentistry, among others.
Who I Am Looking For
Although I am looking for an experienced dentist, I am not simply looking for someone with an impressive CV or many years in practice. I am looking for the right person.
Of course, clinical experience and skills matter a great deal. But having worked with many dentists over the years, I have come to appreciate just how important attitude, humility, integrity, and willingness to learn really are.
I would much rather work with someone who has solid clinical skills, is open-minded, and genuinely wants to keep improving than someone who believes that years of experience mean there is nothing more to learn.
You do not need to have experience in biological dentistry. I understand that much of what we do may be different from what you have practiced before. What matters to me is that you are curious, open to new ideas, and willing to learn different techniques and philosophies of dental care.
Ultimately, I am looking for a dentist who combines strong clinical skills with humility, emotional intelligence, and a genuine ability to connect with people. Someone who listens carefully, communicates with empathy and respect, is attentive to the needs and concerns of patients, and treats every team member with the same consideration. Someone who is confident without being arrogant, open to feedback, and genuinely interested in continuing to learn and grow.
A Little About Living in Richmond
If you are considering relocating, Richmond is a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
The area offers excellent schools, beautiful residential communities, plenty of parks, and lots of opportunities for outdoor activities. The James River runs right through Richmond, with great options for walking, hiking, biking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors.
We are also conveniently located about two hours from Washington, D.C., approximately an hour and a half from coastal destinations, and within easy reach of the Shenandoah Mountains.
Richmond has a lot to offer without the traffic, high cost of living, and pace of some larger metropolitan areas. For someone looking to build a career while enjoying a good quality of life with family, I think it is a great place to be.
When Would You Start?
I am looking for someone to start January 18, 2027, although I would certainly consider an earlier start for the right person. I am currently speaking with potential candidates and would be happy to have an initial, confidential conversation.
I do not believe that the first conversation needs to be a formal interview. I would rather get to know you a little, hear about your experience, and understand what you are looking for in your next professional opportunity.

Requirements
Key Requirements
- At least five years of clinical experience in private dental practice in the United States, with a strong background in general and restorative dentistry.
Virginia dental license. You must either hold an active Virginia dental license or be eligible and prepared to obtain one before starting clinical work with us. - Minimal sedation and nitrous oxide qualifications. You must either already hold the applicable Virginia permits, certifications, or qualifications, or be willing to complete the necessary continuing education and obtain the required authorizations to meet Virginia's requirements before providing these services.
- Strong restorative dentistry skills, including diagnosis, comprehensive treatment planning, and the ability to deliver high-quality clinical work.
Good communication and treatment presentation skills. I am looking for someone who can connect with patients, explain treatment clearly, answer their questions, and help them understand the value of the care being recommended. - The right attitude and humility. You should be confident in your skills without being set in your ways. I want someone who is comfortable asking questions, open to constructive feedback, and willing to consider that there may be a better way of doing something, even after many years in practice.
- An open mind toward biological dentistry. Prior experience is not necessary, but a genuine interest in learning and understanding our philosophy is important.
- Integrity and attention to detail. We need someone who takes responsibility for their work, recommends treatment based on what is best for the patient, and does not compromise on quality.
- A positive, team-oriented personality. How you treat your colleagues matters just as much as how you treat your patients. I want someone who is respectful, approachable, and enjoyable to work with.
- I also appreciate people who take initiative, want to improve things around them, and contribute ideas rather than simply following the same routine every day.
